Insurance: We’ve got you covered!

Our providers are contracted with most major insurance plans, and we are happy to answer any questions you have regarding your benefits. We know how busy you are, so we try to take the guesswork out of the process and keep you informed.

Auto Insurance claims

At Therapia, we treat acute and chronic whiplash injuries by using a combination of acupuncture treatments, chiropractic care, massage, and other adjunctive therapies.

If you’ve been involved in a auto accident (as driver, passenger, while riding a bicycle or pedestrian), it is important to know that your medical treatment will be covered by Personal Injury Protection (PIP) insurance, regardless of who is at fault.

In Oregon, all insured drivers carry PIP insurance, which covers the driver and all passengers in a vehicle for up to $15,000 or one year worth of medical bills resulting from a car accident. You have the right to choose your doctor, and no referral is necessary for acupuncture. By law, you are entitled to immediate benefits, including payment of medical bills regardless of the circumstance or fault for the motor vehicle accident. Our office is happy to manage the insurance billing so that your focus is on getting better without out of pocket expenses.

If you are experiencing pain on a regular basis after an auto accident, call Therapia Wellness Clinic as soon as possible. PIP insurance provides immediate medical coverage for your injury so there is no need to delay your treatment.

How the insurance process works

If you will be using insurance coverage to pay for your appointment, we must verify your coverage before your first visit. Your coverage may depend on what type of plan you have. We can verify your insurance benefits over the phone or e-mail with the necessary information. Please include the following verification information for PPO/HMO plans:

PPO plans

We are contracted providers with most PPO plans, including Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Kaiser, Cigna, Lifewise, Aetna, United Healthcare, Health Net, First Choice health, Providence etc.

Eligibility

We are happy to verify your insurance eligibility and bill your insurance for your acupuncture, chiropractic and massage treatments. We cannot guarantee benefits as benefits must be current at time of service and deductible met for coverage. We ask that you let us know when a change occurs in your coverage.

Ready to make changes to your health and well being?

We offer each person interested in acupuncture or chiropractic a free 15 minute consultation.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I find out if I have insurance coverage?2019-08-24T11:49:17-07:00

We are happy to verify your insurance benefits today. We also recommend that you call your health insurance’s member services line and ask if you have coverage for acupuncture, massage therapy, and/or chiropractic services. Be sure to ask whether the deductible applies, if there are any visit limits or benefit maximums, if referrals or authorizations are required, and if there are any exclusions to your coverage. You can also give us your full name, date of birth, and insurance ID number, and we would be happy to verify your benefits for you. (Please note that benefits are subject to eligibility and plan limitations and are sometimes misquoted. Your coverage as specified in your benefit booklet supersedes all other communications.)

What if my insurance requires authorizations?2019-08-24T11:50:39-07:00

Our billing team will submit and manage your authorizations. If your plan requires authorizations and you receive care that has not yet been authorized, there is always a risk that the authorization will be denied. We will keep you updated on the status of your authorizations and approved visits.

What if my deductible applies?2019-08-24T11:49:38-07:00

If your deductible applies to a service, that means that your insurance will not pay for that service until your deductible has been met. Until the deductible is met, you will be responsible for the full visit amount. Once you’ve met your deductible, your responsibility will change to the copay or co-insurance amount specified by your plan.
